Brothers of the Desert is dedicated to fostering a strong sense of community among individuals of all sexual orientations and identities. Our overall community includes members who identify as Gay, Queer, Bi, Questioning, Straight allies, as well as organizations committed to creating a more equitable society. Together, we strive to address the issues of isolation, disconnection, and inequality faced by Black gay men.
Our allies play a crucial role in supporting our organization and its key initiatives. Our voting members, who are men of African descent, guide the direction of our programs to ensure they align with our goals.
We invite you to join us as a voting member or ally. Our voting members convene monthly, either in person or virtually, to discuss and plan our activities. Allies are encouraged to participate in our events and workshops. To become a member or ally, simply fill out the form at the provided link.

Membership Support Fund
The Membership Support Fund was created to assist Brothers of the Desert members with emergency funding to help with unexpected or unavoidable expenses. Black Gay men are disproportionately affected by financial challenges that reduce self-actualization and create conditions such as poor health outcomes, lack of creditworthiness, and accepting dangerous living situations, including homelessness. The fund will allocate up to $500 to help with expenses that support life and well-being.
