Brothers of the Desert members meet monthly to discuss recent and upcoming events, share updates on the organization, celebrate our accomplishments, and have an opportunity to connect with new and existing members.

Building upon the tradition of barbershops in Black communities, the discussion group is designed to encourage open and honest conversation. The meetings will be inclusive, welcoming the full spectrum of Black men each month: gay, bisexual, transgender, nonbinary, and straight allies. The wellness topics will be equally diverse, ranging from dating and intimacy to aging with HIV, how we get and offer support, and exploring our identities as Black men.

Please join Brothers of the Desert at the 54th annual Negro Academic Scholarship Banquet. We contribute each year to this organization as one of our four designated scholarship funds and will have a table at their annual banquet. 

We would like to announce that SAGE & Friends Palm Springs will return on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at Living Out Palm Springs, from 11am - 1pm. Join us for a special brunch event, where we will be honoring Tim Vincent, president and co-founder of Brothers of the Desert, with SAGE’s Pioneer Award, and Martin Massiello, CEO of Eisenhower Health, with the Corporate Champion Award. SAGE celebrates our elders, and to uplift the efforts here in California and across the country that ensure LGBTQ+ older adults age with the dignity, support, and respect they deserve.  

Please come out and support this important organization and the work Brothers of the Desert continues to do in the Coachella Valley.
